chinacars.co.uk is an independent UK guide to Chinese car brands: MG, BYD, Omoda, Jaecoo, Chery, Leapmotor, Geely, Changan Deepal, XPeng, Zeekr, Denza, Maxus and the other Chinese-owned makers now selling here. We are not a dealer, a manufacturer or a leasing broker, and no car maker pays for or approves what we publish.
Why this site exists
Ten years ago MG was the only Chinese-owned car brand most British drivers had heard of. In 2026 Chinese brands account for around one in six new cars sold in the UK, and the number of badges keeps growing. Prices change often, new models arrive every few months and the information is scattered across press releases, dealer sites and forums. We built chinacars.co.uk to put it in one place, checked and kept up to date.
What we publish

- Our own charging cost figures for every electric and plug-in hybrid model, worked out from the exact battery size and current UK electricity prices, plus a charging cost calculator.
- Head-to-head comparisons, buying guides and money guides on tax, insurance, warranties and depreciation.
- Straight answers on safety, reliability and data privacy.
How we work
Prices come from manufacturers’ official UK price lists and press releases, and every price page shows the date it was checked. Battery, range and charging data come from manufacturers and independent databases. Safety ratings come from Euro NCAP. We do not road-test every car ourselves, so when we describe how a car drives we draw on published independent reviews and say so. We re-check every price every month and correct anything that has changed. Full details are in our editorial policy.
How the site is funded
chinacars.co.uk is free to read and is funded by advertising. Some pages may also contain clearly labelled affiliate links, for example to home chargers, which pay us a small commission if you buy. This never affects our prices, ratings or recommendations, and we never accept payment for coverage.
