Part of our full guide to [Chinese Car Brands in the UK]

Leapmotor is a Chinese EV manufacturer selling in the UK through Leapmotor International, a joint venture with Stellantis (parent of Vauxhall, Peugeot, Citroen, Fiat and Jeep) with a 49:51 ownership split. That partnership gives Leapmotor an existing UK dealer and servicing network from day one — a major advantage over most other new Chinese entrants. As of June 2026, Leapmotor had passed 10,000 UK registrations and reached 1% of the new car market and 3% of the EV market, with retail EV sales running at more than double the industry average mix.
Leapmotor Models Available in the UK
- T03 — a compact city EV and, as of July 2026, the cheapest new car on sale in the UK, from £12,995 OTR after Leapmotor’s LEAP-GRANT discount. 37.3kWh battery, up to 165 miles WLTP range, and a surprisingly generous spec for the price (10″ touchscreen, panoramic sunroof, adaptive cruise control).
- C10 — mid-size family SUV, from around £36,500, up to 263 miles WLTP range, plus a range-extender hybrid (C10 REEV) variant for buyers wanting reduced range anxiety without going full EV.
- B10 — compact-to-mid SUV, from £29,995, the UK’s second best-selling retail electric family crossover, ahead of rivals like the Kia EV5 and Skoda Elroq. A B10 Hybrid EV (range-extender) version launched from £31,495 with a strong standard equipment list, including heated/cooled leather seats and a 14.6″ touchscreen.
Coming Soon
Leapmotor has confirmed four new models arriving through 2026, including the B05 — a 7-seat electric MPV aimed at family and executive/ride-hailing use, with a projected 285 miles WLTP range — and the B03X, a smaller B-segment SUV.
Why Buyers Choose Leapmotor
The core pitch is unapologetic value — Leapmotor’s models consistently undercut rivals on price while matching or beating them on standard equipment. The Stellantis partnership also removes one of the biggest risks with new Chinese entrants: an unproven dealer and parts network. Reviewers are less impressed with interior material quality and design flair, but consistently note the price makes up for it.
Reliability & Ownership
As a brand that only properly launched in the UK within the last two years, long-term reliability data is limited — but the backing of Stellantis’s existing UK infrastructure (79+ retailers already) gives it a stronger service network than most new-to-market rivals.
FAQs
Is Leapmotor owned by Stellantis? Not fully — Leapmotor International is a joint venture, with Stellantis holding 51% and Leapmotor 49%, giving the brand access to Stellantis’s existing UK dealer network.
What’s the cheapest Leapmotor? The T03, from £12,995 OTR — currently the cheapest new car available in the UK.
Is the Leapmotor B10 any good? It’s praised for practicality and value at £29,995, though reviewers note a fairly generic design and cheaper-feeling interior compared to premium rivals.
What new Leapmotor models are coming to the UK? The B05 electric MPV and the smaller B03X SUV are both confirmed for launch during 2026.
Leapmotor C16 — Expected UK Arrival
The C16, Leapmotor’s mid-to-large flagship SUV, has long been tipped as a future UK model, and Leapmotor refreshed it for 2026 with a choice of five- or six-seat layouts, BEV and range-extender (EREV) powertrains, and China-market pricing from roughly ¥145,800 (around £16,000). In China, the BEV version offers up to 630km (391 miles) CLTC range from an 81.9kWh battery, while the EREV variant pairs a smaller battery with a petrol range-extender for a combined range over 1,100km. No UK launch date or pricing has been confirmed yet, but given Leapmotor’s rapid UK expansion — four new models are already earmarked for 2026 — the C16 is a strong candidate to follow the B10 and B05 into UK showrooms.
Is the Leapmotor C16 coming to the UK? It’s expected eventually — Leapmotor’s original UK plans referenced it as a likely future model — but as of now there’s no confirmed UK launch date or pricing.
